Assemble! Saic’s overseas operation of "special team" is about to go out

"Deeply exploring overseas markets is an important strategic support for SAIC’s transformation and development." At this year’s mid-year cadre meeting and the eighth League Congress of the Group, Chen Hong, Party Secretary and Chairman of SAIC, encouraged young talents to join the international business sector and make bold attempts and active explorations. The Group will also build more stages to help SAIC youth grow into talents and display their talents.

Move at the command and respond immediately. On the basis of summing up the past experience, the cadres of SAIC Group and the Youth League Committee, together with SAIC International, quickly launched the recruitment of "special teams" for SAIC’s overseas operations, attracting more than 300 outstanding young people to sign up. SAIC International selected the best and assembled a "special team" composed of 39 members from 15 units including SAIC Volkswagen, SAIC General Motors and SAIC Passenger Cars, with an average age of about 35 years old.

On September 19th, SAIC held a mobilization meeting for SAIC’s overseas operation of "special team". At the meeting, Zhou Lang Hui, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of SAIC, Yu De, Assistant to the President of SAIC, General Manager of the International Business Department and General Manager of SAIC International, held a ceremony to join the team. After the meeting, the team members will devote themselves to the three-day training.

In recent years, SAIC’s overseas business has developed rapidly, and its international business has produced a brilliant report card: in 2022, SAIC’s overseas sales reached 1.017 million vehicles, ranking first in China’s automobile industry for seven consecutive years, and becoming the first China automobile company to exceed the annual overseas sales of one million vehicles. This year, SAIC’s overseas sales continued to maintain a good momentum. At the same time, SAIC’s European vehicle manufacturing base has started site selection.

Zhou Lang Hui said that talent is the most valuable resource for SAIC to expand its overseas operations. This time, the "special team" went overseas with a rare opportunity, a heavy responsibility and a glorious mission. SAIC is solidly promoting the three-year action plan for the development of new energy vehicles, and overseas markets are an important part of it. SAIC Group’s overseas business has great growth potential and is a stage for young people to make great achievements. Zhou Lang Hui encouraged the "special team" players: First, they should be full of passion and be brave in innovation; Second, we must have clear goals and be diligent in learning; Third, we must be down-to-earth and strive for practical results.

Yu De introduced the overseas operation and development of SAIC at the meeting. He said that the "special team" should quickly cut into new markets through the form of teams, and hoped that the members of the "special team" would integrate into international business as soon as possible, embrace local culture, deepen the local market, and work tirelessly and vigorously.

As early as 2019, the Party Committee of SAIC selected 30 outstanding cadres from the backbone enterprises of SAIC to work for SAIC International to support overseas business. These cadres play an important role in SAIC’s overseas business.

At the meeting, Chen Gang, the first overseas representative and SAIC International, made an exchange speech. Qi Feng of SAIC Volkswagen and Rong Yi of Yanfeng Company spoke at the meeting as representatives of the "Special Team". They felt very honored to be members of the "Special Team". They will live up to their expectations and contribute their youth to the innovation and transformation of SAIC’s international operations and traditional businesses.
