National Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention： The production and supply of influenza vaccine has increased significantly this year compared with last year.

Today (December 10th), the National Health and Wellness Commission held a press conference to invite relevant experts to introduce the prevention and treatment of respiratory diseases in winter in China. Xia Gang, director of the Department of Health and Immunity of the National Bureau for Disease Control and Prevention, said that influenza vaccination is an effective means to prevent the onset of influenza and reduce influenza-related severe illness and death.

In the early stage, the National Bureau for Disease Control and Prevention has made special arrangements for promoting influenza vaccination. This year’s supply has the following characteristics.

First, the supply is early. The relevant departments jointly acted to optimize the procedures to buy time for ensuring the vaccine supply in place before the epidemic season. Since July, vaccination units around the country have started influenza vaccination services one after another, earlier than the influenza epidemic season.

Second, the supply is sufficient. Improve the ability to ensure the supply of influenza vaccine. This year, the production and supply of influenza vaccine has increased significantly compared with last year, which can meet the vaccination needs of the masses at this stage.

The third is to re-implement. Dispatch and deploy many times to guide all localities to actively promote influenza vaccination in accordance with the principle of informed consent. In the follow-up, we will continue to guide all localities to estimate the demand for influenza vaccination, optimize the rational distribution of vaccines, achieve accurate planning and use, and actively work with relevant departments to strengthen the connection between vaccine supply and demand to ensure that the supply of influenza vaccines is uninterrupted and the people have vaccines to vaccinate.

At the same time, we will further enrich the forms of publicity, increase publicity efforts, and guide all localities to provide timely, convenient and high-quality influenza vaccination services by making appointment registration, carrying out time-sharing vaccination, extending the vaccination cycle, and increasing service hours.
